Books, Books, Books...please come out and support our wonderful book fair. Book fair dates are March 16-19. What better way to get some fabulous books to inspire your child to become a better reader!!

Please continue to practice the sight word list that has been sent home. End of year goal is 40 sight words by the end of the year. Many students already know 40 words and so don't stop their. If you need another list please just let me know and I will send one home.

Writing end of the year goal is two sentences on topic. We have been working towards this goal all year. I am really proud with the writing in our class but I know it can get even better with practice. Please review your child's writing with them daily and praise them for their hard work but please continue to practice and push them.

Thank you for your support and please let me know if you need anything from me. Your child's success is so important to me!

March Madness

The year is quickly coming to an end...I can't believe it is already March. Here are a few things that will be going on and a few reminders.

1. Spring Pictures will be on March 23, 2010

2. Report Cards will be sent home on March 18, 2010

3. Please remember to help your child study for their sight word spelling test...we will have one every Friday.

4. We are working on addition and will begin subtraction, please make sure that you help your child with number recognition. If they do not know their numbers then they have a really difficult time with these math concepts. Mrs. Hussain and I will continue to work on this with you child at school as well.

5. Please send your child with a HEALTHY snack everyday. This could be fruit, granola bars, pretzels, etc.

Welcome Back!!!

Wow does two weeks ever fly by quickly not to mention the last 5 months for that matter!! I really hope everyone was able to relax and enjoy the holidays! I know I did and it was so awesome celebrating our first Christmas with Addison!! However, we must get back into the swing of things!!

We will be holding conferences the week of Jan 25th-29. They are held during the school day. The students will be dismissed 2 hours early this whole week. I will be sending home a form with your date and time. If the day or time does not work for you I will do my absolute best to fix it. Please keep in mind that we have to schedule around Big Shanty and siblings.

There will be NO SCHOOL Monday January 18 because it is Martin Luther King Day.

Please continue to read with and to your child everyday. It is so important in their development towards both of these academic areas. Our goal is that your child be able to write 2 complete sentences on topic. We do practice this every single day in the classroom but that is not enough. Also, please make sure that you are practicing sight words and if you need the list again please let me know.

Addison Grace Eparvier

All of you know I had my baby girl on October 6, 2009. She was born at 8:58pm weighing in at 6lbs and 10 oz, she was 18.5in long. She has been such a blessing to my husband Eric and I. Motherhood has been the most amazing experience for me and I definitely feel like it has helped me to understand and connect with the my students even better.

Nicole McBee did such an awesome job taking over the class and keeping them on track. As well as keeping me on track for when I came back. I would just like to thank her for all of her hard work and dedication. I know the kids really loved her!!!

Daily Folder

Rememeber to check and initail your child's daily folder every day. This is our way of communicating with you daily. Also, please make sure that you are using the daily folder to transport money, transportation changes, or any notes for us. Thank you so much!
