This week in preschool speech we are reading What Makes a Rainbow? by Betty Ann Schwartz.

Story vocabulary: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, rabbit, ladybug, fox, chick, grasshopper, bird, butterfly, sky, clouds, rain, wings, tail, soft, legs, feather, sun

Home story extension activites:

-Colors Book: Make a simple book about the colors from construction paper and pictures cut out of old magazines.

-Make a Rainbow crayon: Take various colors of crayons and place a rubber band around them, creating a "rainbow" crayon. Use the crayon to scribble rainbow designs on white paper.

-Playdough Rainbows: Use playdough in different colors to sculpt a rainbow.

-Rainbow Bracelet/Necklace: String Froot Loops cereal onto yarn to make edible rainbow jewelry.

-Read more books about rainbows and colors.

Articulation practice: creat different color bags/boxes and have your child put different objects from around the house in the color bags and then practice saying the words: ex-yellow: banana (CVCVCV).

Have a great week learning about rainbows and colors!
